General Information
Concept
The participants will attend 20 of a total of 21 different workshops which cover the current imaging approach to the diagnosis of diseases. Furthermore, interventional techniques will be discussed. The instruction will be in groups of approximately 50 participants. Typically, a workshop consists of some introductory remarks by the teacher, self-study of the case material for 15-30 minutes and discussion of the cases with the teacher in the remaining time. The teachers guide through the cases, discuss different diagnoses, present additional material and ask pertinent questions to participants. In addition, there are Highlight and Special Lectures presented daily by senior experts on "hot topics", new developments or political issues in radiology or associated sciences. The case viewing is supported by a special software, uniquely developed for IDKD and drawing from the extensive expertise with electronic teaching accumulated by IDKD over the last years. Depending on their choice, participants can review the case material on their own laptop* or on laptops provided by IDKD** (see New in 2013).Download Final Program IDKD 2013 New in 2013 As in 2012, USB sticks with all cases for review during the workshops will be distributed to every participant on site. *Participants may bring their own laptops (PC or Mac) to view cases. The participants wishing to bring their own laptop need to declare this during the registration process. Those participants will be assigned to the groups without IDKD laptops provided. 220 V electric outlets will be provided in the classrooms. **For participants without laptops, IDKD will supply laptops as during the past IDKD courses. Those participants will have a possibility to share one IDKD laptop provided in the classroom with 2 or 3 of their group-mates at an extra fee of CHF 100.00 each. If you wish to test the IDKD software prior to the course, you can do so by downloading a test version from this link
For the participants bringing their own laptop (PC or Mac) to the IDKD course, the technical requirements for a perfect functioning of IDKD software on your laptop are: Microsoft® Windows® Vista® (32/64-bit) or Windows7® (32/64-bit) or Windows8® (32/64-bit) note: Image and Video Viewing is possible on laptops with Microsoft® Windows® XP operation systems. Additional functions may not be available on such computers.
